Pro.Motion Limited strives to produce high-quality publications and audio-visual productions including documentaries, films, animation and television programmes. The Company aims to draw positive feedback from critics and audiences alike.


Interactive Books


Pro.Motion Limited launched their interactive publications during the Malta Book Festival 2017. The three publications have not only become bestsellers in Malta, but have also been approved and supported by National Literacy Agency and the Ministry of Education and Employment.

Since the publications feature augmented reality, images come to life when readers download a free app on their mobile/tablet and point it on images found in the book. More information can be found in the FOR DISTRIBUTION section of this website.


Who are we?


Pro.Motion Limited has published interactive books aimed at children of different ages. These publications enjoy augmented reality made up of stopmotion, animation and footage. The Company has produced a family-oriented feature film that premiered at cinemas in 2017. Furthermore, it has produced various animation (2D and stopmotion) projects. The Company is also responsible for over 5,500 hours of television work. Its repertoire includes documentaries, prime-time talk shows, paranormal programmes, children's programmes and animation amongst many others. Through the years the members have established themselves as media professionals who provide high-quality educational, entertaining and edutaining programmes and have garnered extremely positive feedback from critics and audiences alike.

The Core Team

Company Director

Charlo C Bonnici has been working non-stop as a freelance producer with three television stations, including Malta's national broadcaster, since 2004. He has produced a feature film and a number of animation projects, including a 2D mini-series and stopmotion that is incorporated in published children's books. Charlo has also acted as drama coach for an internationally awarded television series. He was also one of the fifteen participants specifically handpicked to attend the Training for Audio Visual Professionals (a first in Malta) organized by the Malta Film Commission and the MEDIA Desk Malta. Before working in the audio-visual industry, Charlo worked as an Electronics Engineer.

Business Development Manager

Ruth Frendo is an established freelance Maltese writer / producer / television presenter who has been working continuously since 2001. She is also a best-selling author and magazine editor, and has freelanced articles for various publications (local and international). Her television production work includes documentaries, prime-time talk shows and children's programmes amongst many others. Ruth has worked as PRO to an international song contest. She has a Masters degree specialized in PR and Media with the University of Sheffield Hallam (UK). Moreover she is one of the fifteen participants that was specifically handpicked to attend the Training for Audio Visual Professionals (a first in Malta) organized by the Malta Film Commission and the MEDIA Desk Malta, and has attended a number of courses overseas. Ruth has been described as a "Star!" (The Sunday Times, 21st January 2007) and been described to have "the rare combination of intelligence and allure that makes her ideal both as an interviewer and as a television personality" (The Sunday Times, 17th January 2010).

Researcher

Mary Anne Zammit is a retired school principal with forty years' experience in the education section. She has done research work for projects including a number of documentaries and television programmes, as well as an animated children's series related with myths and legends of islands around the world, which had funds awarded by the Malta Film Fund.
